The traditional Crot from the Val Poschiavo valley is a round, cave-like domed structure made from dry stone walls and a false arch. This shelter is used for storing fresh harvest goods under cover of darkness. Today we still have two solid Crotti, used as natural refrigerators for our home-grown and regional products. One of the Crotti was constructed by Gino and his son in 2014.

It is a rustic and shared accommodation for groups and solo travelers. For many centuries charcoal was produced in seclusion above the alp. Hard working men – named char burners – were masters of this exhausting and black trade. Nowadays, hiking the 1 hour „Köhlerweg“ trail around the Rifugio, the traditional domains („carbunera“) can be seen.
With a bunk bed and a single bed, our triple bedroom offers space for small parties, families or solo travelers. If you have some more luggage, this room will cater for enough storage.

We almost always have sleeping places for hikers available, but you can also make a reservation.
From 7:00 until 9:30 we're serving a typical alpine breakfast from the Puschlav region in our cozy ristoro. You can eat in our dining room or on the tables in front of the house, enjoying the morning sun.
This noodle specialty made from buckwheat is a typical meal from Puschlav. We prepare the pizzoccheri freshly and without preservatives, with ingredients from our alpine paradise-garden. We recommend a red wine from Veltlin.
